Catalysing Innovation: Driving an innovation and start-up ecosystem, University innovation services taking shape

Innovation is a driver of change and one of the most important means of meeting global challenges. The University of Vaasa will arrange a hybrid event as a prequel to the Wasa Future Festival on the 5th of August at 1 PM at Wasa Innovation Center,

The vision of the University of Vaasa is to become an internationally recognized science university. As part of this, the university wants to strengthen its innovation and commercialization activities, promote the university's innovation culture, support entrepreneurship and be an active player in our region's networks, ie ecosystems.

The Innovations and ecosystems team was established at the University of Vaasa last autumn. The aim of the team is to act as a catalyst for innovation and ecosystems. During the winter, the team has become acquainted with the university and the surrounding ecosystem, met with members of the university community and learned to understand how it could best support university students and researchers in developing and commercializing innovations. At the same time, ecosystems between the university, companies and public actors have been mapped.

In this hybrid event, we will hear inspiring stories from internationally recognized innovators and of course what innovation team can do for us. Additionally, there will be different opportunities for discussion and networking. Welcome!
