Research
The goal of my research is to explore how organizations get value from information technology. To that end, I conduct research in two areas: enterprise architecture and digital transformation. In the first area, I am interested in how organizations architect themselves for sustained success in the era of digitalization. In the second area, I am interested in how organizations adopt, design, manage, and transform themselves through digital transformation. I have contributed to publications in reputable journals, and to book chapters. My scholarly papers have also been presented at leading information systems conferences.
Teaching
Teaching has been an important part of my life since I graduated. As a lecturer, my philosophy might be summarized as helping students become masters of the subjects they are studying. This requires me to carefully choose didactic methods and content that teach students current, rigorous, well-tested frameworks, theories, and techniques. Therefore, I have used a variety of teaching methods and didactic models over the years depending on context, class size, and course topic. Currently, my teaching interests have focused on business design, i.e., enterprise architecture, project management, and research methods, among others.
Others
Beyond research and teaching, my responsibilities frequently blur the boundaries between various areas such as service and administration.
