Profile

Bening is a postdoc with interests in sustainability and environmental impacts quantification. The climate change impacts of products or services in kg CO2-eq that we like to talk on day-to-day basis, she knows how to calculate that for you. Her research area is application of various environmental system analysis tools such as life cycle assessment (LCA) including environmental product declaration (EPD), life cycle costing (LCC), scenario analysis. Adopting a life cycle perspective is crucial, as it reveals that the most significant impacts may not occur during manufacturing, but rather during raw material extraction, product use, or waste treatment stages.

She studied environmental engineering (Institut Teknologi Bandung) and environmental system analysis (Wageningen University). Her doctoral works at the University of Vaasa focused on environmental impacts of waste management.
