Dr. Anisur R. Faroque, who holds a DSc from Finland, a PhD from New Zealand, and an MSc from Hiroshima, currently serves as an associate professor on the tenure track for International Business at the University of Vaasa's School of Marketing and Communication. With several years of teaching experience, Dr. Anisur has also held several administrative roles including Department Head and Chairperson for numerous departmental and school committees. His international teaching and research experience spans three continents - Europe, Asia, and Oceania - providing him a deep understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and ability to cater to the distinctive needs of diverse students.

His research sphere encompasses marketing, international business, and entrepreneurship, with focuses on opportunity recognition, market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, internationalization, networking, and cognitive heuristics and biases in decision making. His research contributions have been featured in a range of recognized academic journals including Industrial Marketing Management, International Business Review, and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice among others.

As a global academic citizen, Dr. Anisur regularly contributes to international academic discussions and presents his research findings at various conferences such as the Academy of International Business (AIB) and the Vaasa Conference on International Business. His exemplary work has been recognized with Best Paper awards at the EIBA annual conference in 2017 (SME and Internationalization track) and Vaasa Conference on International Business in 2019.
