With a solid academic foundation, including a Bachelor's degree in Automation and Control Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer and Control Systems Engineering, Hussain Kahil is currently a PhD candidate in Automation Technology at the University of Vaasa, Finland. As a member of the Wasa Zero Emission Data Center (WSTAR) project, his doctoral research focuses on developing intelligent, data-driven control systems by integrating multi-agent reinforcement learning and digital twins, aiming to significantly improve the energy efficiency, resilience, and performance of data centers.
In recognition of his innovative research, Hussain was awarded the Riitta and Jorma J. Takanen Foundation Grant (2024), further supporting his research into sustainable technological solutions.
Complementing his academic endeavors, Hussain has over 8 years of professional experience as a Project Manager, successfully leading international projects focused on energy efficiency. Through his leadership, he has consistently implemented sustainable solutions to conserve resources and minimize environmental impact.
His research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, deep reinforcement learning, and control theory, particularly applying advanced AI techniques to optimize energy management and automation technology. Passionate about leveraging technology for societal benefit, Hussain actively utilizes data analytics to foster sustainability and enhance the quality of life.
