Country-specific requirements for document delivery
The country-specific documentation requirements must be followed first and foremost, if applied to your degree-awarding country. The University of Vaasa makes no exceptions to these requirements.
You need to meet the country-specific requirements only after you have been accepted. Therefore, you do not need to meet these requirements when applying. If country-specific requirements apply to your degree(s), your acceptance will be conditional until you meet the requirements. If you do not meet the country-specific requirements by the deadline (see below), unfortunately your study place offer will be cancelled.
Rolling admission, | Joint admission, |
Deadline
If the applicant does not meet these requirements by this deadline, the conditional acceptance will be cancelled. | Deadline
If the applicant does not meet these requirements by this deadline, the conditional acceptance will be cancelled. |
The country-specific requirements must be met with every educational document issued by higher education institutions that you submit as attachments to your application, no matter whether the educational documents are of the degree used as the basis for eligibility, additional educational documents or used as proof of language proficiency. Therefore, you must meet the requirements with every single transcript of records and/or degree certificate you submit if country-specific requirements apply to them.
Please note that any application documents submitted to the University of Vaasa by post will not be returned to the applicant. Do not send the original degree certificates and transcripts of records that you have been given when graduating, or any other document that cannot be replaced. If you are sending paper documents for the purpose of meeting the country-specific requirements, you are asked to submit officially certified copies.
If you have not graduated yet, you must meet the country-specific requirements with your most recent transcript of records. Once you have graduated, you are required to submit a copy of your degree certificate and final transcript of records as a proof of your graduation, but at that point you do not need to submit the documents again according to the country-specific requirements. You are required to submit the educational document(s) of each degree according to the country-specific requirements just once.
If your degree-awarding country is on the list below, please use one of the following addresses, depending on the country-specific requirements for you:
- E-mail address of the Admission Services is:
admissions(a)uwasa.fi
- The postal address of the Admission Services is:

Finland
- In case of using courier services, please use the following address:

This means that the copies you upload have a stamp, signature and the date of issuing added by for example the institution which issued the original document or a notary public. Copies certified as correct by two individuals not representing an official body are not accepted.

Completed degrees
You must submit copies of the official government-granted degree certificate and transcript. The original documents must be verified with an apostille by the authorised body of education of the Russian Federation in your region (Федеральная служба по надзору в сфере образования и науки (Рособрнадзор)). Copies of the apostille-verified original documents must then be officially certified by a notary public. The copies submitted must carry the notary public’s original stamp on each page and the signature of the certifying officer. Alternatively, the notary public can also use a unifying element, meaning that the pages are attached together in a way that certifies them all. In this case only one page must carry the notary public’s original stamp and the signature of the certifying officer.
You do not need to send the documents by post. If you are unable to upload them directly to your online application form, you can also send them by e-mail to admissions(a)uwasa.fi. Please make sure to include all of the pages of the original documents, including the pages’ back sides with any markings (text, stamps, signatures etc.)
If you have completed your degree in Russia but are currently residing outside of Russia and are unable to have your original documents verified with an apostille as instructed above, please contact the Admission Services for possible alternative ways to prove your educational background.
Incomplete degrees
If you have not yet graduated, you must submit a copy of your official transcript of records. The copy of the transcript of records must be officially certified either by the awarding institution or a notary public. You do not need to send the document by post.
