The factors that made me apply to the Master's program in International Business at the University of Vaasa were related to my career in international business. I wanted to deepen my expertise at the strategic level in business management. The core studies of the MIB program at the University of Vaasa support my goals, as they include a wide range of courses in International Management, International Marketing Management, and International Human Resource Management. Keeping our skills up to date is essential as the international business environment constantly evolves, and change is inevitable.
The implementation of the Master's program in International Business is of high quality, and it supports the personal learning path of each student in many ways. The professors responsible for teaching are professionals with the latest information. Study counseling is individual and flexible because each student is listened to when making a study plan according to what the student wants to achieve and pursue through the studies. The content of the MIB program courses meets the requirements of modern working life. Also, course scheduling and structures are implemented at the University of Vaasa sensibly and efficiently. The study methods of the courses use e-learning in various ways, which enables participation in the classes regardless of location. Furthermore, the teaching of the courses includes the participation of representatives of different companies, which provides students with the benefits of the up-to-date insight of professionals. Lastly, there are several exchange opportunities as well as the possibility of completing the MIB Double Degree at European partner universities for those interested in international studies.
Of the many positive aspects of my study experience at the University of Vaasa, there are two in particular that I would like to highlight: the opportunity to work alongside my studies and the possibility to complete a Double Degree abroad. First of all, it is possible to combine work and studies in the MIB program, as the University of Vaasa offers the opportunity to participate in courses via an online connection. The program's workload is at an appropriate level in terms of the duration of studies and is also manageable for those who work simultaneously. Second, the MIB program offers a wide range of exchange opportunities abroad, including Double Degree options in Europe. I had a chance to study for a Double Degree in International Business in the Czech Republic at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE). According to Eduniversal Ranking 2021, VŠE is the best business school in Eastern Europe. Studying abroad provides a real chance to get familiarized with a new culture and to take advantage of studies at foreign universities. I warmly recommend the MIB program at the University of Vaasa to those who want to hone their skills in international business in a professional, flexible university environment.
