For degree students
Free of charge studies for degree students of the University of Vaasa
Attending degree students at the University of Vaasa can participate in some of the Open University's courses in Vaasa free of charge. The offered course implementations are from the field of economics and business administration, and primarily students from the field of administration sciences, technology and humanities are accepted in the order of registration. The free places are limited, and they only apply to certain implementations. The studies at the Open University are mainly organized online or as blended teaching. Possible lectures are held in the evenings and on weekends.
Registration
Registration for the free implementations of the academic year 2024-2025 generally starts 45 days before the start of the course at 9 am. (excluding the implementations of early autumn 2024, for which registration already starts on 13 August 2024 at 10 am). Registration ends 5 days before the implementation starts.
Degree students register for individual course implementations via Peppi Student’s desktop. At the end of the registration period, the registration of students accepted for implementation will be confirmed in Peppi. The registration of others will be marked as rejected.
Please cancel your registration no later than one week before the beginning of the course, if you cannot participate in the implementation. In that case, someone who needs the place will get it. Even if the number of places for the implementation seems to be full at the moment, places may become available later due to cancellations. You can no longer get a cancellation place after the course has started.
Free implementations in English for degree students in the academic year 2024–2025
NB! Degree students register for implementations through Peppi Student’s desktop. In selection of courses by the University of Vaasa Open University, for some courses there are multiple implementations, but only specified implementations have free places for degree students.
In the academic year 2024-2025 there are two implementations in English that are free of charge for degree students - AYJOHT2045 Strategic Business Development and AYJOHT3002 Cross-Cultural Management.
