International master’s programmes of University of Vaasa scored most applicants
– Among the University Admissions Finland (UAF) universities University of Vaasa received on average most applications per programme second year running, says International Students’ Coordinator Tiina Rolser. This time on average 193 applications per programme were received in the University of Vaasa. Second-most applications, 138 on average per programme, arrived at Hanken.
Last year, University of Vaasa received in total 1267 applications for the international master’s programmes. This year an application fee was collected for the first time from applicants to Finnish higher education institutions whose eligibility to apply was based on a qualification completed outside the educational systems of the countries in EU/EEA area or Switzerland. The collected fee was 100 euro per applicant.
– Even though the total amount of applications to our programmes slightly decreased the amount of complete applications increased significantly, says Rolser.
Altogether 155 new students will be admitted to the international master’s degree programmes of University of Vaasa in Finance, International Business, Strategic Business Development, Communications and Systems Engineering, Industrial Management, and Intercultural Management and Communication. There are no entrance examinations but admission decisions are made on the basis of the required application documents and the programmes select the best candidates. Applicants will be informed of the admission results in the course of spring.
