Welcome to the Sprout 2023 Pitch Event on the 17th of May!

If you’re interested in innovation and start-up, this event is for you! Come listen to the first cohort of students having undergone the VES Sprout program – the pre-accelerator for students by students.

In this year’s pilot, we will have several interesting pitches, ranging from bitcoin mining to heat homes to addressing the gap in cultural education!

In this pitch event, you have the opportunity to ask questions and network with the teams, so keep your eyes out if you’re looking to accelerate your own start up career. These teams may have something for you, and you might want to start working with them!

As a reminder of what’s in play here for the eligible teams: A trip to Italy to validate and consolidate the progress on their start-up idea. This is part of the EUNICE Imagine Innovation Cup (EIIC). VES Sprout represents the local phase for our University this year. When in Catania, Italy, the team will get to compete in the final phase against six other European universities – Poznań University of Technology (Poland), Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany), University of Cantabria (Spain), University of Mons (Belgium), University of Catania (Italy) and Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France).

The judging panel will be composed of Experts from the University of Vaasa, VES Board members, as well as start-up veterans. These people will provide feedback to the teams, based on their work so far.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

17:30–17:45 Opening, Arrival, Set up of teams.
17:45–19:00 Student teams pitching and feedback
19:05–19:30 Rewards Ceremony. Networking, Closing.

Refreshments and snacks will be available at the event.
