University of Vaasa among the best in Finland for research quality in business and engineering
According to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject, the University of Vaasa’s research quality is the highest in Finland in engineering and second in business. The university also ranks highly internationally – the quality of research in these fields is among the top 20 in Europe, and among the top 50 in the world in business.
The university also scored well in the area of international outlook, ranking second in Finland in both business and social sciences and third in engineering.
Overall, the University of Vaasa was compared internationally in three fields in the 2025 subject rankings:
- Business and Economics (301-400)
- Engineering (401-500)
- Social Sciences (501-600)
The THE World University Rankings by subject ranking uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
