Publiikki Graduation Event

Publiikki is a joint celebration for all our academic units, where graduates with a master's degree, a diploma in engineering, and a doctorate are celebrated. Publiikki is held twice a year, in June and December. All those who have graduated since the last Publiikki are welcome to attend.

Next Publiikki will be held on 18 June 2025 at at the Levón Auditorium. You need to register for the event.

The next Publiikki will be held on June 18, 2025, at the Levón Auditorium of the University of Vaasa. 
There is a separate registration for Publiikki. NOTE! There are two events, make sure you register for the correct one.

  • At 12:15 PM, Publiikki will celebrate graduates with a Master’s Degree in Technology, a Master's Degree in Administrative Sciences, a Master's Degree in Philosophy, graduates with a Master's Degree in Economics and business administration in Industrial Management, Information Systems, and Technical Communication, as well as doctorates from these fields 

    Register for the Publiikki starting at 12:15. = 
     

  • At 2:15 PM, Publiikki will celebrate graduates with a Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration and doctorates.

Content and Duration of Publiikki

The program of Publiikki consists of greetings from the rector, greetings from the deans, and a speech by a graduate. Graduates are personally recognized during the event, each being called to the front of the Auditorium to be congratulated.

The event, including refreshments, lasts about 1.5 hours. A professional photographer will be present, and participants can have their photos taken with their loved ones. The photos will be available for download for personal use after the event. A link will be sent to all registrants.

Detailed instructions will be sent to all registrants by email before the event.

You can invite 1-3 guests to Publiikki, family members or friends. Number of guests should be registered on the registration form, remember to mention also their special dietary requirements.

Dress code

Publiikki celebrates the wonderful achievements of graduates, and the dress code reflects this. For men, this means a suit or dress pants, a blazer, and a dress shirt. For women, a stylish dress or pantsuit.

Cancellation of participation

If you have registered for Publiikki but fall ill or need to cancel your participation, you can cancel your participation via the link in the confirmation message you received (the confirmation message is sent from events@uwasa.fi).
