UN sustainable development goal: Peace, justice and strong institutions

For peace to emerge and be sustained, it is crucial for businesses to be socially and environmentally sustainable. The University of Vaasa addresses topics of peace, justice, and good governance in both business studies and administrative sciences. Our research on these topics takes a unique approach called comprehensive security, which incorporates the political, economic, social, and environmental factors of security.

In an equal studying and working community, everyone has the opportunity to act without discrimination based on sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression or other personal characteristics. The University of Vaasa equality plan covers the measures needed to promote gender equality as well as the statutory obligations stated in the non-discrimination act.

UN's Sustainable Development Goals

Humanity faces significant challenges because of its own actions. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development addresses these challenges with a lofty objective: to place global development on a path to ensure human well-being and human rights, economic prosperity, and social stability in an environmentally sustainable manner. These are the challenges that the University of Vaasa is also addressing. Click on the icons below to see examples of our sustainability work.
