UN sustainable development goal: Peace, justice and strong institutions
For peace to emerge and be sustained, it is crucial for businesses to be socially and environmentally sustainable. The University of Vaasa addresses topics of peace, justice, and good governance in both business studies and administrative sciences. Our research on these topics takes a unique approach called comprehensive security, which incorporates the political, economic, social, and environmental factors of security.
Everyone in an equal studying and working community can work without facing discrimination due to their gender, gender identity, gender expression, or any other personal characteristic. The University of Vaasa's equality plan and non-discrimination strategy includes both actions to promote gender equality and those required by the Non-Discrimination Act.

UN's Sustainable Development Goals
Humanity faces significant challenges because of its own actions. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development addresses these challenges with a lofty objective: to place global development on a path to ensure human well-being and human rights, economic prosperity, and social stability in an environmentally sustainable manner. These are the challenges that the University of Vaasa is also addressing. Click on the icons below to see examples of our sustainability work.
