What do you remember fondly about your studies and student life?
Being actively involved in student associations, some of the best parts of my student life were the amazing events and incredible experiences, not forgetting about the spring celebration (wappu). I could almost write a novel about them. I got to meet fantastic people, many of whom I'm still in touch with.
Tell us about your career. What do you do now? What's your job like?
In October 2020, I became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Alfen Elkamo. In spring 2022, I was appointed as the acting CEO, and from July 2022, I've been the CEO. Before joining Alfen Elkamo, I worked as a production manager at Escarmat.
My current role involves managing a Dutch-owned company. We have around hundred employees at our assembly plant and sheet metal factory. Our products include transformer substations for various needs and low-voltage switchgear.
The best part of my job is seeing a satisfied customer, which requires seamless collaboration throughout the organisation. I cannot even describe the feeling when that happens successfully. We have a team of skilled professionals who also know how to have a good laugh.
What was the most important thing you learned at university?
You can learn anything if you have enough determination, and you do not need to deal with problems alone.
