Learn something new in spring 2025 – opportunities for continuous learning

The University of Vaasa offers many opportunities for continuous learning in Spring 2025 for those interested in university studies or enhancing their skills. Applications for separate studies, alumni studies, FITech studies in engineering and SIMHE studies in languages will open in November. Please note that most continuous learning opportunities are targeted for people who live in Finland.

Application period for separate studies and alumni studies: 8 November – 8 December 2024

You can apply for separate study rights for specific courses at the University of Vaasa. You can study alongside degree students in subjects such as accounting and finance or industrial management. Study rights may be granted for individual courses or broader study modules, with a maximum of 35 credits at a time. The application period for separate studies in Spring 2025 is from 8 November to 8 December 2024.

Those who completed a master’s degree at the University of Vaasa on or after 1 August 2019 can apply for separate study rights as an alumni student. You can complement your degree with courses from the Open University or regular degree programmes. Alumni studies are free for alumni for the academic year following their graduation. Applications for alumni studies are submitted using the same form as for separate studies. The application period for the Spring 2025 semester is from 8 November to 8 December 2024.

Applications for FITech technology and engineering Studies Open on 13 November 2024

Applications for next spring’s free engineering FITech studies will open on 13 November 2024, at 9 AM. The FITech offerings at the University of Vaasa include topics such as energy technology, energy storage, and 5G technology. 

Courses from the FITech network university are organised by Finnish universities of technology and are completely free for Finnish citizens and residents in Finland. In Spring 2025, there will be nearly 200 courses on themes of digitalisation and renewable energy.

Application for SIMHE language studies open on 12 November 2024

We offer SIMHE language studies in Finnish, Swedish and English for immigrant living in Finland who want to improve their employability. For courses starting in spring 2025, you should already have previous knowledge of the language. Application period opens on 12 November 2024.
