TENTA Tools for enterprises to leverage artificial intelligence

Co-funded by the European union

In recent years, the global adoption of AI and machine learning methods has surged remarkably. Despite this, the practical implementation of AI solutions in Finnish businesses remains incomplete. The key barriers to AI adoption include the high costs associated with developing AI-based solutions and a shortage of expertise. This TENTA project aims to develop business-oriented software tools, practical examples, and user guides that will enable Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to integrate various AI algorithms into their business operations without substantial hardware investments. These include also large language models to which highly popular ChatGPT is based on. With the industrial proliferation of AI methods, the level of demand for AI-based solutions produced by companies will rise, and technologies that are only a few years old may already be outdated compared to those used by international competitors. Thus, adopting the latest AI solutions can offer a significant competitive edge for the companies in the area.   The technical foundation of this project encompasses the fine-tuning and transfer learning of AI models. These technological solutions allow the exploitation of more complex models with reasonable computational resources, also enabling SMEs to use high-performance AI models to perform well-defined tasks with excellent accuracy. The examples and software tools developed will be collaboratively refined with business partners in South Ostrobothnia. This collaboration aims to ensure the broad applicability of these tools across various business sectors. This objective is also supported by the heterogeneous nature of the group of business partners involved.
