As a result of its October round of applications, the Finnish Cultural Foundation awarded grants to four doctoral students from the University of Vaasa.

- M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.) Tuire Hautala-Kankaanpää, EUR 9 500
- M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.) Max Lehtimäki, EUR 28 000
- M.Sc. Ekaterina Sofroneeva, EUR 28 000
In October, the Finnish Cultural Foundation received nearly 10,000 applications, of which 1,080 were successful. Of these, the sciences accounted for 61% and the arts for 38%. The October round is the largest of the Finnish Cultural Foundation’s four annual application rounds. This year it led to grants totalling EUR 31.5 million.
