The goal of the three-year REUNICE project has been to share best practices and find effective models for the network’s research collaboration, sharing research infrastructure, and increasing interaction between research and society.
The project has developed three digital platforms that can be utilised in research collaboration. The Expertise Exchange platform enables ideation and innovation management across organisational boundaries, the Open Science Network uses AI and blockchain to connect people involved in research and projects in similar areas, while the AI Competences Centre brings together the network’s AI expertise in one place. The platforms are in trial use and are being further developed.
Additionally, the project has sought ways to support young researchers through training and mentoring and created guidelines for inclusive communication. The visibility of science has been promoted, for example, through the Invisible Unveiled art exhibition, which presented the network’s multidisciplinary research in a creative way. The exhibition has been on display also on the University of Vaasa campus.
Although the REUNICE project is ending, research and innovation collaboration remains an important part of the network’s activities. The University of Vaasa intends to deepen its research collaboration with distinguished European partners to increase the impact of research work.
