University of Vaasa tops Finland in business administration in Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

The University of Vaasa has risen to the top among Finnish universities in business administration in the 2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects published by Shanghai Ranking. Ranked 22nd, the university is among the top universities in the world in business administration. In management, the university also made significant progress, moving from the top 500 to the top 300 in the world.

– We are delighted to have risen to the number one spot in Finland for business administration in this year’s Shanghai GRAS ranking. Internationally, the result is also good news as for second year we are ranked among the world’s top 25 institutions. This demonstrates our research to advance sustainable business, energy and society is of high impact. I want to congratulate the entire university community and thank everyone for their excellent contributions and impactful work, says Martin Meyer, Vice-Rector of International Affairs.

The Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) is a discipline-specific global ranking published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2017. The ranking takes into account, for example, the quality and impact of research, publications in top journals, international cooperation, and significant academic awards. Over 1,900 universities from 96 countries were evaluated in the ranking, which covered 55 disciplines in natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.
