UN sustainable development goal: Zero hunger
Hunger means that a person lacks food. It may be quantitative or qualitative, chronic or acute. Issues of equality and social responsibility are inextricably linked to fighting hunger and feeding the world’s rapidly rising population. South Ostrobothnia is a thriving food production region that produces beef, milk, and grain. The University of Vaasa conducts food research, focusing on consumer behaviour and the circular economy. Many of our partners are food enterprises that operate in South Ostrobothnia.
UN's Sustainable Development Goals
Humanity faces significant challenges because of its own actions. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development addresses these challenges with a lofty objective: to place global development on a path to ensure human well-being and human rights, economic prosperity, and social stability in an environmentally sustainable manner. These are the challenges that the University of Vaasa is also addressing. Click on the icons below to see examples of our sustainability work.
