UN sustainable development goal: Sustainable cities and communities
One of the University of Vaasa’s longest-term sustainable development projects concerns the creation of sustainable communities and cities in collaboration with various players. The university will continue to work closely with the City of Vaasa, various regional NGOs, and other stakeholders. Urban and regional development challenges are specifically addressed in research and education in regional studies and other administrative sciences, as well as industrial management and marketing studies, both of which have a long history of green development projects in the Vaasa region.
UN's Sustainable Development Goals
Humanity faces significant challenges because of its own actions. The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development addresses these challenges with a lofty objective: to place global development on a path to ensure human well-being and human rights, economic prosperity, and social stability in an environmentally sustainable manner. These are the challenges that the University of Vaasa is also addressing. Click on the icons below to see examples of our sustainability work.
